For the most part I try to eat pretty low carb, but on my taper week my inner carboholic gets to come out. Now carbo loading doesn’t mean eat whatever! You still want to eat clean to keep your gi system happy with you. Tonight I made a steak stir fry. I would normally eat 1/2 a pound of steak over veggies. To carbo load, I cut my steak serving in half and added a serving of couscous. Try to add an extra serving of carb at each meal 4-5 days leading up to your race….DO NOT just eat a huge plate of pasta the night before. It will stick to your intestines and it will still be there in the morning. Would you want to carry that pasta plate as you run your race? If not don’t eat it the night before 😉
